When the 6 week mark came around, I didn’t waste another day to start my workout journey and loose the 70 pounds I put on during my pregnancy. I remember the first day and thinking how hard it was going to be but with the help of trainer and owner Felicia Romero at AZ Pro Physiques, I knew I was in good hands. I started a meal plan that Felicia put together based on my eating habits during the pregnancy and began the 3 day a week training sessions. Not long after, I was off to working full time and had to move my schedule to working out early in the morning. I was really excited to start with another trainer who Felicia knew would be a good fit for me. I immediately knew I was in for a challenge when JoAnna Roshone first trained me but I knew my body needed the shock. Week after week I began to see results and the inches fell off!! I strongly believe with the words of encouragement, ongoing motivation and the knowledge of nutrition JoAnna provides helped. I am back in good shape and feel confident enough to show off my body. My name is Megan and I met Adrienne in 2005. At that point in my life I had just gotten married and was at my heaviest weight of 220 pounds. I had always just thought in my mind that I was going to be overweight and there was nothing I could do about it. I started gaining weight at twenty three and gained it pretty fast. A Few years down the road I had a couple babies and stayed around the same weight. After my second baby I remember deciding to give it a shot and try to lose some weight. I started out with some running and a little weight lifting and the weight was coming off slowly but surely. There was a turning point though when I saw Adrienne and the success she was having. I called her one night after a Christmas party and said, can u share with me your diet plan. She of course did and that’s when things began to change drastically. What I didn’t know is that diet is 80-90% of your struggle. Putting the right foods in your body at the right time was key to my success. Adrienne has continued to share with me things that are successful for her and is always an amazing source of encouragement and motivation. My journey began at AZ Pro Physiques in March 2012. When I started, I was so uncomfortable in my own body I knew I had to change. I had a baby in July 2011, and my son Aiden has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I wanted to be healthy and fit for him. I didn’t want to be an overweight and exhausted mom I so often see. I was set up with Candace at AZ Pro Physiques and we immediately clicked. She was outgoing, motivating and tough as well as considerate to my needs. She understood the goals I wanted to achieve and helped me every step of the way. I was put on a very strict diet and started working out with Candace 1-2 days a week doing weight training and cardio. I was also working out at my gym doing 3-4 days of cardio on my own. From March to June I had lost 25lbs. I then started seeing my weight plateau so I changed up my diet and exercise routine and lost an additional 5lbs. I am now 30lbs lighter and have more energy and confidence than I ever had. I am healthy and happy and most of all a better mom and wife. I now think twice about the things I put into my body and when I don’t feel like working out, I pull up my before and after pictures Candace took. I was referred to Felicia Romero by my drummer, Steve Tonali in November 2011. Steve asked me how hard I wanted to work to shed the pounds. Of course I said; very hard! I need someone to kick my butt! Well, he was right! When I first met Felicia, she knew exactly how to target the challenges I was having with my body and was able to put me on a very strict diet along with a killer work out! First few workouts I thought I was gonna pass out (literally) and die! She worked muscles I didn’t even know I had. She continued to push me and I started to see results just after several weeks. I had more energy, my clothes were feeling big on me and I felt good about the way I was eating.

Being a single mom, a very busy career woman and the lead female singer for Western Sun Band; time was not something I could spare. Every moment of my day was absorbed. I always felt that you needed to spend hours in the gym to get any results. It’s not true! A 30 minute workout is all you need! Felicia really targets the areas that you want to focus on and she doesn’t let you give up. She will push you even when it hurts and praise you when you are done!

In two months, I went from a size 12 to a size 6 and 15 pounds lighter! I feel great on stage and have lots of energy throughout my busy days at work. My story, like many others, began long before I walked through the door of AZ Pro Physiques. I had tried many fad diets along the way, starting and stopping working out, gym memberships… The list could go on and on. Before contacting Whitney I was out of control, eating anything and everything. I kept gaining weight and getting more depressed…and eating more. I felt hopeless and helpless. I hated myself.

I was at my lowest when, while driving down Gilbert Road, I saw the Training sign on a building I drove by many times before. I had made my decision that I had to do something because I didn’t like the direction my life was taking me.

I was a little nervous when I first walked in but my mind was put at ease immediately. As soon as I met Whitney we just connected and continue to have a great relationship. I say relationship because I feel as though Whitney and the other great trainers are family.

My first workout was unforgettable…mainly because I thought I was going to die! I used muscles that even my muscles didn’t know about! I knew I was going to work out hard, but thinking it and doing it are two different things. I just kept telling myself to push through because I have a goal and I WILL reach it. The journey had begun and I survived the first hurdle; getting started.

Whitney has been a Godsend to me. I can’t wait to start my sessions, being greeted with that smile! And she smiles and smiles all the way through my workout…while I gasp for breath or fall over from leg malfunctions!!! Her never ending support and caring words have meant the world to me. She has guided me on a path for a better, more meaningful life through her teachings. Her strength and spirit lift me up when I feel like I am going to crumble. Whitney has taught me more than workout techniques and proper form; she has taught me how to live again.

I am not on a diet, I have been taught and made lifestyle changes. I look at food differently now and think about what I am putting in my body. For Whitney, the goal is to fix the problems and help people live better, more healthy lives…beyond their time at AZP. I know that I am not just a client who pays for training to them. It’s more than that. I believe that my success in reaching my goals has happened in great part because of how I have been treated and how that made me feel. I have also done a lot of hard work, both with Whitney and on my own.

I was, and still am, 100% focused on reaching my goals. I say goals because I have already reached two and am now on my third! Workouts keep getting more intense and I LOVE IT! I feel so good when I finish each session! I have lost about 40 pounds with Whitney’s help and feel like a new person. I know when I enter AZP I am going to get my butt kicked…I just say BRING IT!!! Whitney has given me the confidence that I needed to know that I can do anything. The only one stopping me is myself. Now I say “I WILL do it”, not “I think I can.”

Nick and I had more than a few pounds to lose when we made the decision to walk through the doors of AZ Pro Physiques. Nick had made some positive changes with his body and lifestyle, lost a great deal of weight but had become stuck. Nick hit a plateau and was frustrated that his body had stopped responding to losing weight when he was still so far from his ultimate goal.

I was the wife in denial that my extra pounds made any difference on my body. It seemed that after so many years together we “accepted” each other the way we were and considered this the new norm. Now, with our trainers’ help, we are not “accepting” but rather inspired by our new bodies and lifestyle. We truly feel that we achieved such great success because we embarked on this journey together, as a team where we could support, motivate,encourage, and relate to one another as we traveled this challenging yet rewarding road together.

Angela and Artie have been incredible. They gave us the information and tools we needed to eat right and become fit and taught us that at the end of the day we had to be accountable to ourselves and believe in the plan they had outlined for us. Nick and I relied on each other as much as we relied upon our fantastic trainers. It was clear from the beginning that Angela and Artie were taking into account that we were doing this together, as a couple. They made our meal plans similar enough that our meal prepping was easier, and they coordinated our training schedules around what we needed as a family.

They worked hard to keep us motivated, focused on our individual goals and made sure that each and every week we hit our mark and made great progress. That’s not to say it was easy though. We were, are, and forever will be working to maintain the success we’ve attained.

Physically we both changed drastically, and overall, we are different people now. Nick lost 70lbs. and went from 30 to 14% body fat in the period from May to November, and that was in addition to the 90+ lbs. he had lost on his own before reaching out to AZ Pro Physiques. I lost over 30lbs in that same time period and went from a size 10/12 to a 0/2. We now live a much more active lifestyle. We are healthier, better examples for our daughter, family and friends. Most importantly we are inspirations and motivation for each other. Thank you Angela and Artie for having such a positive impact on our lives, we are forever changed.

Nick and Jessica Trainer: Artie and Angela

I started working out when I was 28 years old, and I have worked out on my own for 20 years now, either with a gym membership or exercise DVD’s at home. The last several years I had grown frustrated with my progress (or lack of it). I have always tried to eat clean and exercise daily, and I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t reaching my fitness goals. In July 2010, I purchased P90X, an extreme fitness program done at home with a pull-up bar and hand weights. Over the next 12 months, I was able to make good progress on my upper body with that program, but I was still frustrated with my hips, thighs and butt. My husband finally suggested I hire a personal trainer to help me work on my problem areas and push past my plateau.

On a recommendation from my chiropractor, I set up an appointment witht AZ Pro Physiques on August 1, 2011. The same week, I began working with Angela Cook. She tweaked my diet and added daily cardio sessions to my routine, and I met with her for weight training twice a week. Over the next 5 months, I watched my body transform! So far I’ve lost 3% body fat, 1.25 inches in my chest, 4 inches in my waist, 4.5 inches in my hips, 1 inch in my thighs, 0.5 inches in my quads, 0.25 inches in my arms, 0.25 inches in my calves, and lost 11 lbs.! I’m very pleased with my progress so far, especially in my upper body. My lower body is not where I want to be quite yet, but I’m a lot closer now than I’ve ever been, thanks to Angela!

I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Angela in 2012 and finally becoming the lean, fit and muscular me I’ve always wanted to be!

I was asked to be in 2 weddings just 3 short months after my second son was born….yikes! I had trouble losing the weight after my first son and knew I would need help this time around. Whitney made that happen and I was able to get back in shape for the weddings and now weigh even less than I did before getting pregnant! Being a mom of 2 boys herself she knew just what I was going through and was able to keep me motivated and work with my individual issues. There were days when I could barely drag myself to the gym after being up all night but once I was there I always felt so much better and had way more energy afterwards. She held me accountable to be there and it was just what I needed. The combination of her nutrition program along with the cardio and strength training really clicked with my body and the tips she had changed the way I eat and exercise from here on out. The day we met Whitney Jones is the day our lives changed. We were looking to get some fitness and nutrition advice so we made an appointment to meet with a personal trainer. Whitney sat with us for about an hour and at that point Darren and I realized that maybe this time, we wouldn’t fail at our diet. Maybe this time we’ll actually hit our goal and maybe this time we won’t gain it back.

Whitney basically swept us off our feet. At first we had reservation because how could this thin, super fit trainer understand what we were going through, mentally and physically. However, she completely surprised us. She went above in beyond in understanding and relating to our weight situation. She made us realize we weren’t the only ones dealing with this and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. She not only is our trainer but our food therapist. No one is perfect and everyone falls off the wagon at some point. Whitney was the first one there to pick up the pieces and teach us to keep going and not get down on ourselves. She perfected our meal plan that was conducive to our lifestyles and our preferences.

Whenever we have an appointment with Whitney, it brightens our day. She motivates you every minute you’re with her and gives you that push you’ll need. Don’t get us wrong, weight loss is not a stroll in the park, but having Whitney by our sides made it so much more enjoyable and minimized the struggles that people face with diets on a daily basis. You know those moments when you feel like throwing in the towel? Well Whitney is right by your side to guide you back on track and keep you focused. She taught us to never give up and with Whitney, our lives are much richer.

I had the opportunity of having Whitney train me for a few months this past year! I’m over 50 and have found that the older I get, the more difficult it is to tone and lose weight! Prior to working with Whitney, I would go to the gym and walk away wondering if I had done ‘any good’ at all, not sure if the exercises or techniques that I was using were even benefiting me. Then I began working out with Whitney! She literally opened up a new world for me. Within a short amount of time, I began seeing and feeling results and my body fat began dropping right away. I had an energy that I hadn’t felt in years and the clothes that were put in the ‘back ‘ of my closet could be worn again in comfort!!

Some of my most difficult areas to tone (arms and legs) began tightening up and were noticeably improved! Whitney has a way of making every workout unique and exciting. She demonstrates the intensity and love for what she does – and I found it to be totally contagious. When I worked out with her, I wanted to push myself past what I normally would do. She was motivating, fun and so knowledgeable in what she was teaching that I found myself looking forward to the days that I would be able to train with her. She also gave me really good instructions on what to do on my “days that I wasn’t training with her” so that I was always making improvements and getting closer to my goals.

Within a short amount of time, I was down to my goal weight and even surpassed my body fat goal! Thanks Whitney for being such an inspiration and motivator to achieving what I couldn’t do on my own!!!

Wow, all I can is this has been such a journey. I have always wanted to compete and get in great shape, like girls I always would see in magazines and say “I want to look like that”. I finally decided after 3 years to start this journey… I couldn’t have done any of it, without my amazing trainer, Felicia Romero. From the day i started working with her till now, I would have to say I learned more about myself in those 3 months then in my 26 years! I didnt feel intimated, scared or anything by her. From the first time touched base, i knew i had found the person i wanted to work with! I pushed myself harder than I ever thought was possible and learned that your body and mind are so much stronger then you allow yourself to believe. Before I decided I wanted to step on stage and compete, I always had trainers and told them that this was my goal but was always afraid to do it or felt like they couldn’t take me to that next level, this is all where Felicia would come i and play her part! There was so many days I wanted to throw in the towel, but that’s when your mind and body kick in and that little something in you keeps going. If you don’t want to change unfortunately you won’t, you have got to want it! I have always struggled with depression and drinking but now i don’t think about either one all, i can just hit the gym and that is always my # 1 fix! There is no way i could have done any of this without Felicia by my side .. When i was having a bad day,cravings, sick of cardio, whatever it was, she was there ASAP, she changed my life in every way, and gave me a new body! She helped me step on that stage and made me feel so good about everything. She made it easy and do able, which is hard to find! Im so excited to continue on my journey with Felicia, being if its training for a show, maintaing, and just living a healthy way of life!

I have never been a big fan of personal training until I met Angela. I always quit during the first few weeks I would start training. However, when I met Angela, things were different. She was very personable and comfortable to be around. I felt that she actually cared about my health, and wanted me to succeed. She made me accountable for everything I did and helped me to learn the right choices to make. I am proud to say that I have lost 20lbs with Angela. I am building muscle and my clothes are fitting much better. Angela has been brilliant in encouraging me to stick with my exercise and healthy food choices. She made me a visual that hangs on my refrigerator that helps me remember what I should be eating for each meal (including my protein). Another thing that Angela encouraged me to is to keep a food journal. I track everything I consume. I can see what two slices of pizza (my favorite) does to my daily calories. Also keeping the journal has helped me think about how long I have to spend in the gym to get three Oreo cookies out of me, so I make better choices!

Kudos to my trainer for empowering me with the skills to change my lifestyle. I am looking forward to seeing how much more progress I will make under Angela Dixon’s direction.

Artie was my personal trainer after I had my 3rd child. When we started training I was a size 14 and weighed in at 152 lbs. with 34% body fat. He took great care in listening to my needs and to the type of exercises I liked to do. He created new and fun work out routines for me so it was never boring. I use to work out every day when I was going through high school and have had a personal trainer every since I was six years old. I used to race BMX bikes professionally and after I quit that I quit working out for about 6 years. I looked at myself in the mirror and realized not only was I not happy with the way I looked, but I was being told by clients and the President of my company that I was getting FAT. So I was really motivated to get in shape and needed a personal trainer to help me because I could not do it on my own. Since I’ve met Artie, he has helped me achieve my goals since day one. He is always prepared for when I go train with him and always has a new game plan. He brings intensity and desire to improve every trainee when they go see him. Now he has gotten my life back in shape and has helped me even earn a promotion in Sales with my company. I could not be happier training with anyone other than Artie. I actually started with a different trainer and after about 8 weeks, the 3 of us talked and decided that if I was to achieve maximum results, I should switch to training with Artie. That was one of the best decisions of my life. In the last few months, I went from 25.3% body fat to 16.8%, losing only 8 pounds. Artie has helped me change that fat to lean muscle mass. I’ve lost 3 inches in my waist, but have gained over 2 inches in my arms, 2 inches in my thighs, and 3 inches in my chest, and I now have good looking forearms and calves.

Artie has coached me on how, what, and when to eat, and more importantly, has proven to me that weight training using proper form is more important than lifting the highest weight possible. He’s the first person ever to stress on correct lifting techniques, even if it means not being able to lift the most weight. The guy is a genius!

At 40 years old, I’m actually in the best shape of my life. I love the way I look now and so does my wife. J I have more strength and stamina than I ever thought possible. I seriously can’t believe what some hard work and proper training has helped me to achieve. I love the new me.

Artie is also the best motivator ever! He never lets me quit nor give up, even if I can only get one rep out, he will challenge me. I never thought that I could leg press over 900 pounds, but because of Artie’s trust and belief in me, I have mastered that weight. My next goal is 1200 pounds, and I know I can do it because he has helped me build, “the better me.”
