Being a single mom, a very busy career woman and the lead female singer for Western Sun Band; time was not something I could spare. Every moment of my day was absorbed. I don’t know how to say thank you enough for helping me get ready for Miss Arizona USA. I lost 25 pounds in less than three months and couldn’t have done it without AZ Pro Physiques. My story, like many others, began long before I walked through the door of AZ Pro Physiques. I had tried many fad diets along the way, starting and stopping working out, gym memberships… The list could go on and on. Before contacting Whitney I was out of control, eating anything and everything. I kept gaining weight and getting more depressed…and eating more. I felt hopeless and helpless. I hated myself.
I was at my lowest when, while driving down Gilbert Road, I saw the Training sign on a building I drove by many times before. I had made my decision that I had to do something because I didn’t like the direction my life was taking me.
I was a little nervous when I first walked in but my mind was put at ease immediately. As soon as I met Whitney we just connected and continue to have a great relationship. I say relationship because I feel as though Whitney and the other great trainers are family.
My first workout was unforgettable…mainly because I thought I was going to die! I used muscles that even my muscles didn’t know about! I knew I was going to work out hard, but thinking it and doing it are two different things. I just kept telling myself to push through because I have a goal and I WILL reach it. The journey had begun and I survived the first hurdle; getting started.
Whitney has been a Godsend to me. I can’t wait to start my sessions, being greeted with that smile! And she smiles and smiles all the way through my workout…while I gasp for breath or fall over from leg malfunctions!!! Her never ending support and caring words have meant the world to me. She has guided me on a path for a better, more meaningful life through her teachings. Her strength and spirit lift me up when I feel like I am going to crumble. Whitney has taught me more than workout techniques and proper form; she has taught me how to live again.
I am not on a diet, I have been taught and made lifestyle changes. I look at food differently now and think about what I am putting in my body. For Whitney, the goal is to fix the problems and help people live better, more healthy lives…beyond their time at AZP. I know that I am not just a client who pays for training to them. It’s more than that. I believe that my success in reaching my goals has happened in great part because of how I have been treated and how that made me feel. I have also done a lot of hard work, both with Whitney and on my own.
I was, and still am, 100% focused on reaching my goals. I say goals because I have already reached two and am now on my third! Workouts keep getting more intense and I LOVE IT! I feel so good when I finish each session! I have lost about 40 pounds with Whitney’s help and feel like a new person. I know when I enter AZP I am going to get my butt kicked…I just say BRING IT!!! Whitney has given me the confidence that I needed to know that I can do anything. The only one stopping me is myself. Now I say “I WILL do it”, not “I think I can.”

Nick and I had more than a few pounds to lose when we made the decision to walk through the doors of AZ Pro Physiques. Nick had made some positive changes with his body and lifestyle, lost a great deal of weight but had become stuck. Nick hit a plateau and was frustrated that his body had stopped responding to losing weight when he was still so far from his ultimate goal.
I was the wife in denial that my extra pounds made any difference on my body. It seemed that after so many years together we “accepted” each other the way we were and considered this the new norm. Now, with our trainers’ help, we are not “accepting” but rather inspired by our new bodies and lifestyle. We truly feel that we achieved such great success because we embarked on this journey together, as a team where we could support, motivate,encourage, and relate to one another as we traveled this challenging yet rewarding road together.
Angela and Artie have been incredible. They gave us the information and tools we needed to eat right and become fit and taught us that at the end of the day we had to be accountable to ourselves and believe in the plan they had outlined for us. Nick and I relied on each other as much as we relied upon our fantastic trainers. It was clear from the beginning that Angela and Artie were taking into account that we were doing this together, as a couple. They made our meal plans similar enough that our meal prepping was easier, and they coordinated our training schedules around what we needed as a family.
They worked hard to keep us motivated, focused on our individual goals and made sure that each and every week we hit our mark and made great progress. That’s not to say it was easy though. We were, are, and forever will be working to maintain the success we’ve attained.
Physically we both changed drastically, and overall, we are different people now. Nick lost 70lbs. and went from 30 to 14% body fat in the period from May to November, and that was in addition to the 90+ lbs. he had lost on his own before reaching out to AZ Pro Physiques. I lost over 30lbs in that same time period and went from a size 10/12 to a 0/2. We now live a much more active lifestyle. We are healthier, better examples for our daughter, family and friends. Most importantly we are inspirations and motivation for each other. Thank you Angela and Artie for having such a positive impact on our lives, we are forever changed.
I started working out when I was 28 years old, and I have worked out on my own for 20 years now, either with a gym membership or exercise DVD’s at home. The last several years I had grown frustrated with my progress (or lack of it). I have always tried to eat clean and exercise daily, and I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t reaching my fitness goals. In July 2010, I purchased P90X, an extreme fitness program done at home with a pull-up bar and hand weights. Over the next 12 months, I was able to make good progress on my upper body with that program, but I was still frustrated with my hips, thighs and butt. My husband finally suggested I hire a personal trainer to help me work on my problem areas and push past my plateau.
On a recommendation from my chiropractor, I set up an appointment witht AZ Pro Physiques on August 1, 2011. The same week, I began working with Angela Cook. She tweaked my diet and added daily cardio sessions to my routine, and I met with her for weight training twice a week. Over the next 5 months, I watched my body transform! So far I’ve lost 3% body fat, 1.25 inches in my chest, 4 inches in my waist, 4.5 inches in my hips, 1 inch in my thighs, 0.5 inches in my quads, 0.25 inches in my arms, 0.25 inches in my calves, and lost 11 lbs.! I’m very pleased with my progress so far, especially in my upper body. My lower body is not where I want to be quite yet, but I’m a lot closer now than I’ve ever been, thanks to Angela!
I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Angela in 2012 and finally becoming the lean, fit and muscular me I’ve always wanted to be!

Whitney basically swept us off our feet. At first we had reservation because how could this thin, super fit trainer understand what we were going through, mentally and physically. However, she completely surprised us. She went above in beyond in understanding and relating to our weight situation. She made us realize we weren’t the only ones dealing with this and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. She not only is our trainer but our food therapist. No one is perfect and everyone falls off the wagon at some point. Whitney was the first one there to pick up the pieces and teach us to keep going and not get down on ourselves. She perfected our meal plan that was conducive to our lifestyles and our preferences.
Whenever we have an appointment with Whitney, it brightens our day. She motivates you every minute you’re with her and gives you that push you’ll need. Don’t get us wrong, weight loss is not a stroll in the park, but having Whitney by our sides made it so much more enjoyable and minimized the struggles that people face with diets on a daily basis. You know those moments when you feel like throwing in the towel? Well Whitney is right by your side to guide you back on track and keep you focused. She taught us to never give up and with Whitney, our lives are much richer.
Some of my most difficult areas to tone (arms and legs) began tightening up and were noticeably improved! Whitney has a way of making every workout unique and exciting. She demonstrates the intensity and love for what she does – and I found it to be totally contagious. When I worked out with her, I wanted to push myself past what I normally would do. She was motivating, fun and so knowledgeable in what she was teaching that I found myself looking forward to the days that I would be able to train with her. She also gave me really good instructions on what to do on my “days that I wasn’t training with her” so that I was always making improvements and getting closer to my goals.
Within a short amount of time, I was down to my goal weight and even surpassed my body fat goal! Thanks Whitney for being such an inspiration and motivator to achieving what I couldn’t do on my own!!!

Not only did I lose 15 pounds over a couple months but I started to tone easier. The protein Angela recommended was great and was really working.
Almost a year later I have maintained the body I wanted and it’s only gotten better. The meal plan is so easy to do and you choose what food you like and implement it in her plan.
